You wouldn’t think a petite girl like me loves to eat.. But truth be told, if you guys notice my tweets I crave a lot!! And I cook a lot, too. I crave for different food and cuisines all the time but Filipino food has got to be one of my favorites! I love exploring different food, places and different restaurants. Anything that serves great food (add ambiance too!) will instantly be a go-to place for me!
Recently, I got invited to Kuya J restaurant in SM Megamall for they were to launch their newest endorser! How could I say no? It’s Filipino food and I’ve been hearing from my peers that it’s a great restaurant with great food so I was really up to try it! It was the perfect time also because they were launching their newest endorser as well – who turned out to be no other than: Jericho Rosales! (!!!)
As they introduced Jericho Rosales as their newest face, they also had a short program and Q&A session hosted by Ms. Sam Oh. Aside from her being a great host, she was fitting for this because she’s a food blogger as well! Bloggers asked a handful of questions about Mr. Jericho Rosales’ Filipino food favorites and his favorites from the Kuya J menu, which btw, he’s a big fan of Adobo too! (Eeep! We’re the same <3 Haha) I found him as the perfect endorser because he’s honestly one of my boyfriend/husband goals! He’s very maamo, kind, sweet and family-oriented, all of which depicts that type of Filipino guys should be! Another thing that’s very “Kuya” of him is that he puts his heart in everything that he does! 🙂
What Kuya J Stands For
Why “Kuya J” you might ask? Well, “J” because it is sort of like a representation of Filipinos! Junjun, Jose, Jaime, Juan and the like are very Filipino sounding names. Kuya J’s main idea is that they want to gather and unite (Filipino) families over great not just great, but heart-warming dishes! They’re not only for the service and the experience but also, for the moments made as well with the family. Kuya J aims to make every dining experience and every customer feel like they are part of the family.
It’s no typical casual Filipino restaurant. The restaurant has cozy and modern looking interiors and it deemed perfect for the type of service that they have. It is nothing complex but nothing usual either. The ambiance is very relaxing and comfy, perfect for gatherings. Simple yet it really depicted what they’re all about.
The Service and Food
Like I have stated, it’s no typical Filipino restaurant. Chef Sheena – their head chef made sure that the dishes on the menu is like no other or rather, with a twist! It may be a tad bit different but not far from that home-y Filipino food that we all know.
We were able to try the favorites-slash-best sellers of Kuya J!
And for the main attraction…. CRISPY PATA <3
And for dessert!
Currently with 18 branches running, and 50 other branches to be opened by the end of 2015, I’m pretty sure Kuya J will be winning more hearts (and tummies! Hehe) of Filipinos! Why not have Kuya J at your next family gathering and let me know how it turns out! After having that food coma yet food heaven, I’ll be definitely coming back for more!
Jericho Rosales for Kuya J
I also got to cover the launch at Kuya J, SM City Cebu because I just came from them! So it’s Kuya J take 2 for me! :))
Kuya J chose the perfect endorser for them! 😀 Also, here’s the latest Kuya J commercial, check it out!
